Chelsea Chaves is a soprano known for her radiant lyricism and engaging stage presence. From opera roles to educational outreach with the Pacific Symphony and the Pacific Chorale, her performances combine artistry, passion, and connection, leaving a lasting impression on every audience.
About Chelsesa
Soprano Chelsea Chaves is celebrated for her rich expressiveness and vibrant connection with audiences. Since earning her Master’s degree from the USC Thornton School of Music, she has appeared in an array of opera productions and concerts with organizations including the Astoria Music Festival, Musiktheater Bavaria, Opera Santa Barbara, OperaWorks, the Grammy Award–winning Pacific Chorale, Pacific Symphony, Songfest, and more. Among her favorite roles are Hanna Glawari in Lehár’s Die Lustige Witwe and Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.
A passionate advocate for introducing classical music to younger audiences, Chelsea frequently performs with Pacific Symphony’s educational outreach programs and serves as Education Manager for Long Beach Opera.
Her accolades include the prestigious Profant Foundation vocal award in 2018 and being named a finalist in the Loren L. Zachary Competition in 2015. She has also had the honor of singing the National Anthem at two Los Angeles Lakers games. Chelsea holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Chapman University.
Chelsea grew up in Santa Barbara, California, and moved to Orange County in 2010 to attend Chapman University before continuing her studies at USC in Los Angeles. She met her husband, Ryan, while at Chapman, and they have now been married for seven years. Together, they share their home with four adorable cats. Beyond music, Chelsea has a love for dolphins and a sweet spot for chocolate.
